Greetings ACS,
Thanksgiving will soon be here! One of our long-standing
traditions at ACS is our Thanksgiving Feast! It is a memorable day for all.
During the morning, each class takes a turn in the kitchen helping prepare a
dish for our Thanksgiving meal. They also decorate our tables, play games, and
perhaps make a craft. Then, we eagerly await the arrival of family, friends,
and alumni to begin our “feast”. We begin promptly at 11:30 with entertainment
provided by our K-4 grade students. After, we eat the meal so lovingly prepared
by our own kids. Once clean-up is accomplished, we dismiss to enjoy the
Thanksgiving holiday and celebrate the gifts God bountifully provides! We look
forward to seeing you all Wednesday, November 21.
Grade Cards: Please remember to return your grade cards to the office.
Student Council News: The Show Me Crafters service was a big hit making $297 to go towards
Christmas gifts for a family in need. Thank you to all who helped; also, I
understand they want us back in March. Dec.

Greetings ACS,
Happy November! As the election approaches, I encourage
us all to exercise our freedom to vote! Please take the time to pray about our
country and this election; and, please vote your moral values! It is a
wonderful blessing and responsibility to be a part of a nation founded upon
Biblical principles.
Parent /Teacher Conferences were a huge success. Thank
you to our parents and teachers for taking time out of their busy schedules to
come meet with each other. Also, we want to thank the family club for once
again providing a delicious meal for our teachers and their families! Our next
conference night is scheduled for March 14; it will be for grades 4-12 only.
Last year, during our spring conference night, we discovered that our younger
elementary families stay in constant communication with their teachers and did
not need an additional conference time.
Teacher Changes: It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Mr. Bobby Shane. God
opened the door for him to switch to a daytime shift at his other job. We say
congratulations, but also that we’ll miss him! Taking his place, Mr. Steve
Venable has been hired as a full-time teacher. Mr. Rusty Thomas has also been
blessed with a job change and will now teach only in the mornings. Mr. Venable
will be taking Mr. Shane’s classes in the morning and Mr. Thomas’ classes in
the afternoon. Thank you goes out to each one of them for being willing to
serve God in the ministry at ACS!

paper one. Therefore, if you have any questions or want to see if your

Greetings ACS,
School is up and running at
break-neck speed! Well, maybe not break-neck speed, but that is how we feel in
the office the first few weeks of school. We have gotten off to a great start.
Everything and everyone seems to be transitioning quite smoothly. If you ever
have a question or issue, please do not hesitate to speak with someone in the
office. We want our year to continue to be easy and efficient for everyone.
The family club met this week
and elected officers for this year. They are the following: Jacinda Wassam,
president; Pam Breid, vice-president; Amy Furrey, secretary; and Mindy Rehmer,
treasurer. We are excited about all the families that are involved this year!
It looks to be our best year of participation! Please do not forget about the
Scrip card program. It is our hope that this program will be a success, this
way the family club will not need any other type of fundraiser.
Kick-Off Forms: Parents, please look through your kick-off folders for all paperwork
that needed to be turned in. We are still missing forms from several families.
Papa John’s Pizza Fundraiser for Boston: Wednesday, Sept.

Greetings ACS,
Thank you to all who came
last night to Kick-off! It was a
great evening to meet everyone, see classrooms, and dispense valuable
information. We know many items were discussed last night and if you ever have
a question, please do not hesitate to call the office, 827-4700. We will begin
regular office hours Wednesday, Sept 7. They are every Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year! We have new teachers
who are very excited and whom God has brought to us at just the right time. The
new families will be a great addition to our ACS family as well. Finally,
Student Council has already been working this summer to ensure a fabulous
school year. Thank you to all our families, faculty, volunteers, and staff who
are dedicated to serve and sacrifice for ACS and for the ministry of our Lord!!
Summer reading
should be completed by now! Remember,
this is for all returning students and new students who were informed of the
program over the summer. This will count as your first reading test grade for
all of these students. The requirements for each grade level are as follows:
K-3 grade 400-800 minutes; 4-6 grades 600-1000 minutes; 7-12 grades 800-1200
minutes. Each student needs to turn in a reading log of titles and minutes with
a parent signature verifying what was read. This information can be typed or
handwritten and given to your teacher by Friday, September 7. Don’t forget
about the prize drawings!! We have been collecting prizes to be drawn from
McDonald’s gift certificates, a WalMart gas card, and a WalMart gift card to
name a few! We will have random drawings for each age group and a grand prize
for the most minutes read!
I have just a couple of
announcements which I failed to mention last night. On the bottom of your child’s
student schedule was listed your school
board representative. Each school board member is assigned a family to
contact and communicate with throughout the school year. If ever you have a question
or issue you would like to discuss with a school board member, please feel free
to call your representative.
Also, we will not be providing milk this year at lunch. The program became burdensome to
keep up and the majority of families did not want to participate. Therefore,
please send something for your child to drink at lunch in addition to their
regular water bottle. On another note, please take time to read the dress code in the student handbook. It
is an issue we as administration ask that parents deal with at home before
students ever enter the school building. The dress code applies to male and
female students of all grade levels. Spirit
Days are special days for our school. On these days we encourage students
and teachers to wear ACS apparel or school colors – red, black, and white.
Crazy outfits and hats are acceptable on Spirit Days. These days will be put on
the events calendar. Finally, the school
directory is listed on the website and is accessible only with a password.
The password has not changed. If you need it, please call the school office as
it is only given to ACS families.
Thank you for taking the time
to read this lengthy bulletin! I look forward to seeing you Wednesday!!

count as your first reading test grade. If you have not already done so,
please enroll your child at the Bob Jones summer reading website to be eligible
for their prizes. We have been collecting our own prizes to be drawn in
September – McDonald’s gift certificates, a WalMart gas card, and a WalMart
gift card just to name a few! We will have random drawings for each age group
and a grand prize for the most minutes read!
We are still seeking new teachers and new students for
this coming school year. Please join us in prayer! Each year, this is a time of
relying on God to provide exactly who our school needs. If you know of anyone
who may be interested, please have them contact me at 829-1199 or call the
school office at 827-4700. Thank you! It takes us all praying and focusing on
God for ACS to be all God created it to be!
School Supply List: The supply list will be in the stores soon and it
will also be handed out at the pool party, July 31st. I can’t
believe it’s that time already!!
Yearbooks:
The yearbooks from last year are in and will be handed out at the pool party.
If you will not be there to pick yours up, please call the office or Gaye
Hiller to make other arrangements.
Parent Volunteer Jobs: You will be receiving an email soon from Lorna Sparks
concerning parent volunteer jobs. Please be thinking and praying now about how
God wants you to serve this up-coming year!

Happy Summer ACS, June 12, 2012
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! It seems to be
flying by quickly! Please remember that September’s tuition payment is due by
June 15. Additionally, all book fees should now be paid. If for some reason you
need to make other arrangements, please call Jon Church or Gay Otten.

Finally, please join us in prayer as we are seeking new
teachers and interviewing new families. Each year, this is a time of relying on
God to provide exactly who our school needs and who fits with us the best. We
are still looking to fill several teaching positions for the up-coming year; if
you know of anyone who may be interested, please have them contact me at
829-1199. Thank you! It takes us all praying and focusing on God for ACS to be
all God created it to be!
Fees: June is the time to pay September’s tuition
payment. Please remember that tuition is raised to $150 per student. Also, if
we do not receive your June tuition payment by June 15th and you
have not contacted the school to make other arrangements, we will consider your
spot open for the next school year. There are a few classes where this is
critical because I have names on a waiting list wanting to attend ACS. So,
please send in your June payment on time. Thank you!!
Student Council: We will be delivering Meals on Wheels June 18-22. Workers and drivers
are needed from 10 am to 12 pm. Please call Lisa Cloud and let her know how you
can serve. This is a wonderful opportunity for ACS to give back to the

Hello ACS,
It is official, school is out for summer!! What a fun day
we had today, kids playing, kids cleaning, interesting chaos! I am so proud of
all of our students and teachers who worked so hard today! THANK YOU!!
On Friday, May 18, we will be handing out grade cards and
collecting all textbooks. Please have your child look through all textbooks to
erase any marks, etc. If your book is a
workbook or has your child’s name written on the front, it is consumable and
yours to keep.
If you are a planner, dates are already on the event
calendar for our summer pool party, Kick-off, and school dates. Cindy
Rieckhoff, our Athletic Director, has also been busy working on the sports
calendar. Volleyball is already on the events calendar and I am in the process
of getting the other sports on the calendar.
Throughout the summer, I will be posting a new bulletin
the first part of each month! Please continue to check the website
periodically. I am already looking forward to next year!!
Fees:
May is the month to pay book fees, $155, and not a tuition payment. June is the
