Greetings ACS,

I would like to give a big thank you to Josh Greer and Dr. John Drenon for coming to our school to do school pictures and eye exams! The morning went by very smoothly. If you see one of these men, please thank them as they donate their time to provide us these services!!

Well, some of our families are headed to Springfield for the weekend for the National Christian HomeSchool Championships. We will be competing in Varsity Soccer and Varsity Volleyball. Please be in prayer for our teams’ safety, attitudes, and abilities. On October 22, we will be honoring all of our fall athletes. Please plan now to attend our Sports Awards Night.

Parent / Teacher Conferences: Monday, Oct. 29, 6:30 pm – Conference set up is all in the ROC. Each teacher will have a table in the gym. Once you enter, you will also receive your first quarter grade card. All your child’s teachers will be listed on the grade card. You simply visit each teacher on a first come, first serve basis. This is a great night to have any of your questions answered about classes, school, etc.

Fundraiser Dinner: Saturday, Nov. 3, 6 pm – Our big event is soon approaching! Please turn in your guest list now. It is vital for us to receive this information as soon as possible! You will be receiving another letter soon with more details about the table service needed for your table.

Fundraiser Speaker: Our speaker is Brian Young. Mr. Young, an internationally known speaker and author, was a teacher and principal for ten years before becoming director of Creation Instruction Association. He has now been speaking on the topic of creation and Biblical authority for 20 years, doing debates at Universities, going into prisons, and sharing at churches, schools and camps around the world. He has authored a number of books on the topic of creation and Biblical authority and uses the Scriptures as the foundation for science and education. He currently resides in Nebraska with his wife Tara and four children.

Student Council News: The SSLC food drive dates are Oct. 20 and 24. StuCo members check your email for further details from Mrs. Cloud. Finally, four to six students are needed for childcare at Katy Park Baptist Church, Oct. 27, 6:15 pm. If your church ever has a need for special event childcare, please contact Lisa Cloud to see if our StuCo can help. Please don’t forget that you will be serving at the fundraising dinner, Saturday, Nov. 3.  The attire is black pants and white shirts.
