contact Melissa Sims or Lisa Cloud asap!
Also, Mrs. Amy Furrey will be traveling with a team to
Haiti the first part of March. They will be working with Strong Tower Orphanage

it if our students would donate to this cause. Please bring non-character

Hello ACS,
As we prepare for the up-coming school year, we ask each
family to pray about your participation and contribution to ACS. Today, we sent
student intent forms home. These forms allow you to state if you will be
returning to ACS. This is vital for us to know as we accept new in-coming
students’ applications based upon your answers.
We also need you to be praying as to how you would like
to serve next year. We have an abundance of opportunities for you to help ACS.
Please be looking over the Parent Volunteer List now and praying where God
wants you. Remember, we have several large jobs opening soon – Athletic Director,
Inventory Specialist, Senior Lunch Coordinator. We couldn’t accomplish all that
we do without wonderful families like you!
Lunch Forms: If you have not turned your February lunch form in, you may do so
Monday to be included in the week’s lunches.
Valentines:
This year we will not be having a separate party. However, we are still
exchanging valentines on Friday, February 15. Also, the Boston group is selling
the “Kisses” bags for $1. Orders need to be brought to school Feb. 8 and will
be handed out the week of Feb. 11.
Box Tops:
Fabulous February! Every student that turns in fifty box tops will be entered
into a drawing for $50! Turn in 100 box tops and be entered twice! The class with

grade class won the pizza party! We received 1,437 box tops in January! Way to
go, ACS!!

Again, we need someone to step up for the positions that
will be open next year. Some positions need time to learn and transition. Inventory Specialist is a position that
would need training to do. Kelley
Bergman is currently in charge of ordering and inventory of all our books
and testing. She will be doing this next year, but would like to train someone
as that will be her last year. Athletic
Director is another of those positions. Cindy Rieckhoff will not be filling this position next year and we
would like someone to come along side her this spring to train under her. Senior
Meal Coordinator is another that needs time to transition. Paula Crosier will be doing it next
year but that will be her last year. Anyone interested in this position could
mentor with Paula all next year. If you are interested in either position or
have questions about them, please call the office 827-4700, or Kelley, Cindy,
or Paula. Thank you!

Papa John’s Fundraiser for Boston: The 7th and 8th grade classes
are working together to raise money for their Boston trip. Papa John’s pizza
fundraiser is Wednesday, January 30. The class that turns in the most sheets to
Papa John’s will win a pizza party for their class. Thus far, Mrs. Lorna Sparks
and Mrs. Conroy’s classes have been the winners! Congratulations! Who will the
winner be this time??
End of the Day: This is just a reminder that school “officially” closes at 4 pm. We
need all students picked up by that time unless arrangements have been made
with an adult and given administration approval. Thank you! This enables us to
keep students safe at all times.

Greetings ACS,
Christmas break is here! I pray we use this time to rest
and relax, to enjoy and rejoice, and to honor Christ in all we do! I pray
Christ’s blessings on all your celebrations this holiday season.
Please pray for our students. This weekend, our varsity
basketball teams will be traveling to Hannibal for a tournament. Also, today
was the official end of first semester. Please pray for our entire school body
to return refreshed and ready to begin second semester. Our students, teachers,
and staff can always use the faithful prayers of our families, for this we
thank you!!
Congratulations to all those involved in the Christmas
program last night! You all did a wonderful job!! Thank you to all the parents
who were actively involved in making this night a huge success. Thank you to
Mrs. Sparks, Mrs. Patton, Mrs. DeBord, and Mrs. Leon for all their hard work
and dedication. It was a fabulous evening as we celebrated together the birth
of Christ! Volcanoes!: Today, our 8th/9th grade science classes "exploded" their volcanoes! If you are interested, you can view these at you tube. Look up ACS volcano 1 2012 and ACS volcano 2 2012. It was quite exciting for all of our students to see!
Senior Parents: It is the time of year where college applications and scholarship
applications are due. This is simply a reminder that we have a form in the
office to use for requesting transcripts to be sent. Please do not call Tammy
during the morning hours while she is a work. We have the forms in the office
to be picked up anytime. Thanks!
