Verse of the Day: Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.  Psalms 55:12 NIV

Good afternoon, Mustang families!  The end of the school year has been unusual for sure.  Each of our students finished the school year well, despite the challenges of a pandemic.  I am proud of each of our students for persevering!!!  I ask that each of you continue to keep ACS in your prayers over the summer.  It is too soon to know what the fall will look like with the pandemic.  However, we do know that God will remain faithful to our school.  Pray for incoming staff, students, and families, as well as, the current staff, students, and families.  May God's glory shine!

Verse of the Day: And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

Good evening, families!  I pray that each of you are doing well!  These are certainly curious times that we find ourselves.  This is a time for the Church to rise up and share our light and our love for all of God's people!  Beauty can still be found in these difficult times.  Comfort can be found in knowing that we are all in this together, even though we are apart!

I am hopeful that each family has been able to settle into a new "normal" this week.  I am thankful that ACS has teachers who work tirelessly for our students, even from home.  I am also thankful and proud of each of our students for working so hard to continue their learning and school work from home.  Thank you to all of the parents helping them to continue to be successful!  As my own family adjusted to working and learning from home, I was tempted to try to make our daily routine look like that of others.  God quickly reminded me that there are lots of ways to do home school.  Thankfully, we can let the pressures that we put upon ourselves go, and make home school what it needs to be for our family.  I hope each of your families are able to do the same.  Rest assured, God is blessing this time that you have to slow down and be with your children.  Continue to draw near to Him, not just in the difficult moments, but in all moments.  As children of God, know it is well with your soul and remember that God has each of us in the palm of his mighty hand!

There are an abundance of resources out there for families to use during this time of staying home.  Our teachers have assigned plenty of learning assignments, however, Sedalia 200 school district has added some grade specific Flexible Learning Activities to their website for grades kindergarten-8th if you are interested in more learning ideas in the areas of reading and writing, math, or social/emotional. Here is the link: https://www.sedalia200.org/domain/326   Pizza Hut Book-It has fun resources for families as well.  There are scavenger hunts, mazes, bingo, and story podcasts and videos.  Those can be found at this link: https://www.bookitprogram.com/articles/tips-tricks/free-reading-resources   Mrs. Greer and I plan to continue to post story time videos on Facebook throughout next week.  We've received some great suggestions and feedback from our little Mustangs and our big Mustangs!  It is a joy to be part of the Applewood family!

There have been many changes to the school calendar in the past week.  Please take the time to look it over and read the bulletin in its entirety to stay on top of the latest information.  It's also good to communicate with older students about changes to keep them in the loop.  At this time, we are planning to return to school on Monday, April 6.  I will be sharing more information about our return by Wednesday, March 31.  If you have questions, please feel free reach out to me directly through email, text, or phone call.
