Greetings ACS,
Way to go, Student Council! You did an excellent job at
the annual carnival! Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Farr and their kitchen crew for
the fabulous meal! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Crosier for winning the
“Not-So-Newlywed Game!” Overall, the StuCo made a profit of almost $1200! Thank
you to everyone for coming and participating in this fun event!!

forms into the office. If you have not already done so, please continue in
prayer about your decision and return by the deadline. We use these forms to
give us an idea about openings for prospective students.
Elementary Parents: Sometimes we have “unpleasant” jobs at ACS. One of
those each year is monitoring bathroom usage in the elementary building. It is

placed in the trash cans, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Greetings ACS,
We’d like to say thank you to the ACS Family Club! They
work hard each year to raise funds for our student body. Recently, we lost both
microwaves in the CEL building for our elementary students. The Family Club
quickly came to our rescue and purchased two new ones! They are also compiling
a “wish list” from our teachers to see how they can improve our classroom
settings. Thank you for all you do!!
Our annual Carnival is tomorrow! The Student Council has
been working very hard to get things ready for a wonderful fundraiser event! The theme this year is western and we
encourage everyone to come dressed in costume. All who dress up in western duds
will receive free game tickets! Please
invite your friends, family, and neighbors to join us!

Greetings ACS,
Welcome back! We are glad to be beginning our second
semester! I pray this semester goes as smoothly as our first! Please keep each
of our families, students, and teachers in your prayers as we get back into the
routine once again.
Grade Cards: Grade cards were sent home today with your student. Please sign them
and return them to the office. Thank you
10th Grade Students: PLAN Test – Tuesday,
Jan 28, 9 am – Each year the
sophomore class takes the PLAN test which is a pre-curser to the ACT. It will
only take the morning and students will have a lightened homework load. Students
need to arrive on time and bring #2 pencils, calculator, snack, and a water
bottle.
Electronics Agreement: If you received a phone, Kindle, etc. and will be bringing
an electronic to school for the first time this year, we need you to fill out a
new electronics agreement form for the office. The agreement states that all electronics
will be left in the school office during the school day. Just stop by the
office to get your form. Thanks!
Labeling Items: We are having a difficult time finding the owner of stray jackets,
lunch boxes, etc. It would help us tremendously if you made sure everything
your child brings to school is labeled. Thank you

Greetings ACS,
Our science fair
was a wonderful success! Students in grades 5-9 did a great job in executing
their experiments and in their oral presentations. Thank you to Mrs. Blake for
all the hard work she put in for this event. Thank you also to the parents who
stopped by for a look at the experiments. What a wonderful and creative group
of students we have at ACS!
I would like to make a personal plea for the 3 very
important parent volunteer positions
which have been in the bulletin the last few weeks. While athletics is not our
first priority at ACS, it is a vital part of the student experience. We have
seen student leaders develop because of their involvement in sports. We have
also seen families connect in a deeper level to ACS because of their
involvement. ACS could not offer the athletic program without parent
volunteers! Please prayerfully consider the positions which are open.
Our hot lunch
program is also run by a parent volunteer. While the profits benefit the
senior class, the program benefits the entire school. We will not be able to
offer hot lunches next year without a parent volunteer. Please be in prayer
about this position.
Finally, we have one more week until Christmas break!
Since next Friday is a half day, I do not foresee doing another bulletin before
break. The next bulletin will be Friday, January 10, unless something vital
needs to be communicated before then. We return to school Monday, January 6. I
pray you all have a joyous and blessed holiday vacation! Give God the glory for
all He has done!
Box Tops:
Turn in your box tops Monday, Dec 16.
January Hot Lunch Forms: Due
Wednesday, Dec 18 – Your child
received the order form on Wednesday. Please return your forms by the due date.
If needed, you may turn in checks when we return to school in January.
Christmas Program: Thursday, Dec 19, 6:30 pm – Please plan now to attend our annual Christmas
program. It is a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Christ as a school
family! I know that K-8 grades have been busily working on dramas and songs to
present that evening.
Christmas Party: ½ Day - Friday, Dec 20 – This will be our last day before Christmas break. It
will be a party day. Students will take any needed tests, turn in homework,
play games, and exchange their Christmas gifts. School will end at 11:15 am;
lunch will not be provided.
Parent Volunteers Needed: We are in need of 3 vital positions for next
year! **Athletic
Director - This is an over-arching position supervising our athletic programs;
it is a 3 year commitment.
**Game Scheduler for volleyball and soccer - This is
something that begins this year so that our schedule is in the final stages
before school is out for summer. The scheduling of games is something that can
be done from home and you do not need to have a child in the athletic program. If
you are interested in either position, please contact Cindy Rieckhoff at
660-525-2106.
**Senior Hot Lunch Coordinator - We would like this
person in place by the spring semester. They would train under Paula Crosier,
our current coordinator. You do not
need to have a senior student to be the coordinator. Without a coordinator, we
will not be able to offer the hot lunch program next year. If interested,
please contact Paula at 660-473-4635.

Hello ACS,
Congratulations to ACS and Student Council! We collected
300 pounds of food for Open Door through our school and our student council
collection efforts. This was half of the total 600 pounds of food collected
from ACS, Smith-Cotton, and Sacred Heart combined! What a wonderful testimony from
our school showing that we care about our community!
Congratulations to our varsity Soccer and Volleyball
teams! Soccer competed earlier this month. They did well considering they had
two out due to injuries: Raymond Leon and Theo Rieckhoff. Our volleyball team
took second in their division and came home with another silver ball trophy!
Great job, athletes!
Thank you to those on Facebook who did the Target Support
Education promotion. We received a $95 Target gift card. Also, for those that
did not know, ACS does have a Facebook page. It is private and needs a friend
request confirmation to join.
Fall Sports
Awards:
Tuesday, Oct 29, 6:30 pm – This is a

Hello ACS,
Thank you to all our teachers and families for
participating in parent/teacher conferences! We had a stellar turn out this
year! Thank you also to Family Club for preparing a fabulous dinner for our
teachers and their families! It was a huge help on that busy day! Since we do
not have another conference date, I encourage you to keep communication open
with your child’s teachers. If you have any questions or concerns during the
year, please call them.
Homework
Surveys: We
have only received about 60% of our homework surveys. Please return them to the
office on Monday. Thank you to those who have already returned the surveys!
Bookmobile: Parents, please
ask your student about bookmobile books that were checked out in September.
They need to be turned in to the office or to the library as they are now
overdue.
Basketball
Information Meeting: Monday, Oct 14,
7 pm - All

Hello ACS,
Monday will be our parent/teacher conferences! It is a
great opportunity for you to come meet your child’s teachers and discuss any
questions or concerns. All teachers will be in the ROC. We have tables set up
around the gym and parents travel to see their child’s teachers. We will begin
at 6 pm and finish at 8 pm. I look forward to seeing everyone then!
Homework
Surveys: Thank
you to those who have already returned the surveys! If you have not done so,
please return your surveys on Monday.
Directory: We sent home
paper copies of our directory. As we cannot always be perfect, some mistakes
were found. Mr. Tankersley was not listed in the paper directory; also, the
teacher notation for Mr. Baker and Mrs. Bergman was omitted. If you find a
mistake, please check the website directory to see if it is correct. Please let
the office know if the website directory is incorrect.
Picture Day/ Eye
Exams: Friday, Oct. 11
- Order
forms will be sent home soon. Josh Greer will be taking our school pictures once
again. The pictures and eye exams will begin right after opening. Dr. John
Drenon will be doing eye exams for all students who did not attend the sports
physicals. Please thank both of these families for volunteering their time and
talents to ACS!
Chapel Speaker: Monday, Oct. 21 – We invite you to join us as we
