Intent Letters - Going home with students today.  We use these intent letters in a variety of ways; one of which is to determine how many teachers we will need the following year, as well as how many openings we will have available for new students.  We ask that each family pray and seek God's guidance as you consider your future at ACS.  Just a reminder that if you plan to return to ACS in the fall, your September tuition is due in June to secure your child's spot in the class.

Plan Night - Thursday, April 6th @ 6:00 pm in the church sanctuary - This is a very important and informative meeting for all current 8 - 11th grade students and their parents.  You will learn valuable information about applying for colleges, scholarships, financial aid, etc...We will also be planning all schedules for the next school year.  Please plan now to attend.   

Prom Tickets -  Junior/Senior prom tickets are $25 each and are available for purchase in the school office - Prom is scheduled for April 8th  

ST. Louis University Summer Enrichment Reading Program - We have received some information about a summer reading program for all kids entering kindergarten - 12th grade - costs are $269 - $329 - See the ACS bulletin board in either building for more information.

STUCO Social - Tomorrow, February 18th, @ the Ford/Muhr house from 6:00 - 10:00 pm  

No School - February 20th - No homework will be given for the 20th, but please be advised that homework may be given for Tuesday, February 21st.  Please check with your child to see if they have assignments for that day 

Alumni Basketball Game - Saturday, February 25th @ 7:00 pm - There will be an admission charge at the gate - All proceeds will go to the senior class to help with their senior trip -This will be a great evening of fellowship with current ACS families as well as former ACS families so plan to attend if you can.   

Final Basketball Games - The basketball season is wrapping up, but each team has at least one more opportunity to play at home before the season ends.  Please check out the website for a listing of games and plan to come cheer your Mustangs on to a victory!!

The student council is working with our local Birthright office to help meet the needs of those in our community.  They are asking our families to prayerfully consider donating any of the following items:  bias tape (used for quilting), winter coats for toddlers sizes 1-3, maternity shirts, wash cloths, nursing tops, baby bath towels, and newborn/preemie sleepwear.    

Drama Production Auditions - Call backs are today from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.  This year's theatrical production is one of the best musicals ever produced for stage, Fiddler on the Roof .  This is a beautiful show which focuses on family and community.  Mrs. Leon is still needing boys for some non-singing roles in a few scenes.  Dads, you can come and fill these roles as well.  See Mrs. Leon with any questions.

Valentine's Day Grams - Deadline to order is today - all proceeds benefit the 8th grade history trip 

Basketball Tournament - Our Varsity basketball teams will once again be participating in a tournament in St. Louis on February 10th and 11th.  If your child will be participating in or attending this tournament, it is the student's responsibility to get homework from all their teachers before they go.  All work is due when they return to school on February 13th.

Spirit Days - In honor of our upcoming senior recognition on Tuesday, January 24th, we will have a spirit day on Monday (23rd) - Mustang Pride - Wear your ACS apparel or wear red/black/white 

Pep-Rally - Monday, January 23rd @ 11:30

Senior Recognition - Tuesday, January 24th.  The evening will begin with the varsity girls game at 6:00 pm, and the varsity boys will follow at 7:15 pm.  Plan to come and cheer loudly for your ACS Mustangs!!  Let's try to PACK THE GYM!!!

8th grade history trip movie night - Friday, January 27th from 6:00 to 10:00 pm in the ROC - cost is $2.00 per person for the night -  The Secret Life of Pets will show at 6:00 pm and Woodlawn will show at 8:00 pm.  Concessions will be offered - Families in attendance should plan to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and pillows.  All proceeds go towards the 8th grade history trip.  

Fiddler on the Roof movie night - In an effort to get kids excited about the upcoming drama production of Fiddler on the Roof, Mrs. Leon has decided to show the movie here at the school on Saturday, January 28th beginning at 4:00.  Plan to have your child here if they are in grades 5-12 and are interested at all in participating in this year's drama production.  See Mrs. Leon with any questions.  

Drama Production Auditions - This year's theatrical production is one of the best musicals ever produced for stage, Fiddler on the Roof .  Auditions will be held after school in the sanctuary from 3:15 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1st.  Call backs will be Friday, February 3rd from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.  Take note that we are only doing one audition date.  If you have a conflict with that day, please contact Mrs. Leon at 473-2503.  This is a beautiful show which focuses on family and community.  Copies of the rehearsal and production schedule are in the office now, and copies of the script will be available the last week of January.  Come and join the production!

Mid-term cutoff - Wednesday, February 1st

Welcome New Students - We have added two new students to our ACS family.  Eden Herren has joined our Kindergarten class and is the younger sister of Eli Herren.  Samuel Weekley has joined our 7th grade class and comes to us from the Blackwater area.  Their contact information has been added to the ACS online directory.  Please help them feel welcome as they navigate these new waters.  

Basketball Games - Tonight for all three teams beginning with our junior high boys team playing at 5:00 followed by the varsity girls team at 6:00.  The varsity boys team will finish the evening with a game at 7:15 pm.  Come one, come all, and cheer loudly for your ACS Mustangs!!  

ACS Apparel - Shirts have been delivered, and we have had a few people say they wished they had ordered.  As a result, we will be placing another apparel order.  Order forms will be going home today.  The deadline to order shirts will be Friday, January 13th.     

Grade Cards - Going home today

Honor Roll Recognition - We will recognize and celebrate the academic excellence of our honor roll students on Monday, January 9th during opening.  Parents are always welcome to attend.  

Security System - An email was sent out Tuesday afternoon notifying all families of our newly implemented security system that went into effect on January 4th.  Students and teachers are adjusting nicely, and we are happy to have our system up and running.  Parents, please remember that you will now need to check in at the glass window once inside the foyer to be buzzed in past the wooden doors.  Please feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions.  

Tuition Reminder - Please remember that tuition is due on or before the 10th of each month    

Science Projects - 3rd quarter is set aside for science projects.  This means that it is acceptable for science teachers to assign regularly scheduled science homework in addition to the science project work.  Check with your child as teachers will be sending home their expectations, deadlines, and important information for this year's projects.    

Tardy/Absent - Historically, 3rd quarter is the toughest because its cold outside, days are grey, and the end of school just seems so far away; consequently, this is the time of year when we see an increase in tardies.  I encourage us all (my family included) to really focus on getting to school on time so we can all avoid tardy troubles.

Thanksgiving Feast - November 23rd (1/2 day of school) - We will begin our celebration of thanks with a musical performance by our K- 8th grade students beginning at 11:30.  The meal will be served immediately following the performance. Grade Cards - 1st quarter grade cards are going home today - Please returned signed grade cards to the school by Monday, November 7th.    

Mission Trip - Mrs. Furrey leaves Friday morning for a medical mission trip to Haiti.  She will be gone for a week.  Please join me in praying for her safety, her family while she is away, and also that the people of Haiti will be receptive to the gospel message as they receive medical attention.     

School Picture Day - November 4th in the morning - This year Mrs. Brenda Nevels will be taking our school pictures - order forms and payment should be brought to school on picture day.
