The student council is working with our local Birthright office to help meet the needs of those in our community. They are asking our families to prayerfully consider donating any of the following items: bias tape (used for quilting), winter coats for toddlers sizes 1-3, maternity shirts, wash cloths, nursing tops, baby bath towels, and newborn/preemie sleepwear.
Basketball Games - We only have a few home games left before our basketball season is over, and many of you are coming to help cheer on our athletes. If you haven't made it out to a game yet, check the website for upcoming games. We love to pack the gym with fans cheering loudly in support of our athletes.
8th grade history trip movie night - Tonight from 6:00 to 10:00 pm in the ROC - cost is $2.00 per person for the night - The Secret Life of Pets will show at 6:00 pm and Woodlawn will show at 8:00 pm. Concessions will be offered - Families in attendance should plan to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and pillows. All proceeds go towards the 8th grade history trip.
Fiddler on the Roof movie night - In an effort to get kids excited about the upcoming drama production of Fiddler on the Roof, Mrs. Leon has decided to show the movie here at the school on Saturday, January 28th beginning at 4:00. Plan to have your child here if they are in grades 5-12 and are interested at all in participating in this year's drama production. See Mrs. Leon with any questions.
Drama Production Auditions - This year's theatrical production is one of the best musicals ever produced for stage, Fiddler on the Roof . Auditions will be held after school in the sanctuary from 3:15 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1st. Call backs will be Friday, February 3rd from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. Take note that we are only doing one audition date. If you have a conflict with that day, please contact Mrs. Leon at 473-2503. This is a beautiful show which focuses on family and community. Copies of the rehearsal and production schedule are in the office now, and copies of the script will be available the last week of January. Come and join the production!
Mid-term cutoff - Wednesday, February 1st
Valentine's Day Grams - Deadline to order is Friday, Feb. 3rd - all proceeds benefit the 8th grade history trip
Basketball Tournament - Our Varsity basketball teams will once again be participating in a tournament in St. Louis on February 10th and 11th. If your child will be participating in or attending this tournament, it is the student's responsibility to get homework from all their teachers before they go. All work is due when they return to school on February 13th.
No School - February 20th - No homework will be given for the 20th, but homework will be given for the 21st.
Father/Daughter Dance - March 4th @ 6:00 in the ROC - Tickets will be $5.00 per person and may be purchased in the office
Winter Sports Banquet - Monday, March 6th @ 6:30 in the ROC - Everyone is invited to come and help us celebrate the accomplishments of our basketball athletes. All those in attendance should plan to bring a dessert to share.
