Work for Week of April 20, 2020

Dear Parents,

This week we will do the main subjects of Reading and Number Skills.  You may feel free to use the booklet worksheets to boost your child's grasp of the new word families. If you feel they will increase  the understanding of the new sounds, feel free to do so.

MONDAY:

Reading:  Read the current book. and the last 4 Phonic Stories.  By now, you should have all of the Phonic Stories in the folder, and be practicing the last of our new word families!

Number Skills:  Pages:  151-154, Write by 2's and 5' s to 100.  Please use correct formation and spacing.  Encourage your child to take their time in writing these!

WEDNESDAY:

HAPPY EARTH DAY!  Today is Earth Day.  Please watch the movie, "The Lorax"  with your child.  During the movie, please talk about the cause and effect of the actions that the movie is showcasing. How our trees provide air for us to breathe, how one person's action can change the world for either the better or the worse. Also, talk about the importance of taking care of our world, as you do the worksheets that I have given you.

FRIDAY:

Reading the current book.  By now, you should be on book 32, which is the last book of our Kindergarten year!  What a great accomplishment!  We all made it through the year, and our curriculum in a timely manner!  Parents, please read a book to your child, and question them about their comprehension skills as they listen to you.

Number Skills:  Pages 155-158, do 15 simple addition and subtraction problems.  Practice the number skill that you feel your child needs the most review.

I will be listening to each of the students read this week, and I look forward to seeing them!  Thank you parents, for all of your hard work!

Have a great week!
