This week there is homework for Wednesday and Friday, as those are the days we would have had school. I will be sending you an e-mail with some worksheets to go in the lapbook that your child has worked on this semester. They may do all of them, or pick their favorite to do. All of these sheets are about bees as pollinators, however, I will be asking for your child to pick their favorite pollinator, such as: butterfly, bat, moth, hummingbird or bee, and write a report on it. They have until next Friday to do this, and it should be at least 7 sentences. Please include a picture to go with it, as these will go into their Science folder that they will keep.
Wednesday:
Worktext: Pages 245-250, Flag, Christopher Columbus, White House
Phonics: Pages 293-298 Verbally practice the new word family of the new sound for "oo"
Reading: Read the current book and the last 4 Phonic Stories. Have your child review the new word families from the past 3 reading books. Practice with these new sounds is the only way they will learn them.
Number Skills: Have your child measure 5 objects and write the measurement down, with the name of the object.
Write Now: Pages 157-159-160
Science: Please use the worksheets e-mailed in place of any worksheets for this week, unless you feel your child needs extra help in a certain area.
Friday:
Worktext: Pages 251-252 Mount Vernon, talk about the Bald Eagle being the symbol of our country.
Phonics: Pages 299-302
Write Now: Pages 161, 162
Reading: Current book, and by now all the Phonic Stories should be in your child's folder. Please practice these new word families as your child needs to.
Science: Work on Pollinator report, review the kinds of pollinators. We have talked about these in class, so they surprise you!
Number Skills: Review the four coins we have learned, both their value and recognizing them. Do 5 addition problems involving 2 coins.
I will be listening to your child read this week, I hope things are going well with this new learning style. Next week we will be doing something special on Wednesday, for Earth Day!
God Bless each of you,
Mrs. States
