Beware Parents - I have been concerned and burdened by so many reports in the news lately of many young people in our country going missing.  It appears that in many cases the young victims made connections through various apps on their cell phones.  It is important, that as parents, we pray for our young children and educate ourselves about the dangers that are lurking among them.  The following are a few apps that were mentioned:  KIK, YAK, Ask fm, Wisper - I'm certain there are more, but hopefully this will get us started as we equip ourselves with knowledge.

Grade Cards - please sign and return to the office as soon as possible

Tardy/Absent - Historically, 3rd quarter is the toughest because its cold outside, days are grey, and the end of school just seems so far away; consequently, this is the time of year when we see an increase in tardies.  I encourage us all (my family included) to really focus on getting to school on time so we can all avoid tardy troubles.

Science Projects - 3rd quarter is set aside for science projects.  This means that it is acceptable for science teachers to assign regularly scheduled science homework in addition to the science project work.  Mrs. Bessert has agreed, once again, to coordinate our science fair this year and is planning to hold it at the end of Feb.  Check with your child as teachers will be sending home their expectations, deadlines, and important information for this years projects.

Father/Daughter Dance - STUCO is hosting a father/daughter dance on January 30th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the ROC.  Tickets are $5.00 per person and may be purchased in the school office.  Dads. Grandpas, and girls of any age are invited to come and share a special evening together.
