Themes in Literature
Monday--Read, "A Start in Life," pages 110-117. Answer "Think It Through," questions 1-7 on page 117.
Tuesday--Write a character sketch portraying the way a person thinks or feels by describing his actions. For example, you could show a worried person by telling how he paces back and forth, wrings his hands and keeps looking at the clock. One paragraph, please.

1. Did the pigs help other animals work the harvest? How?
2. Who did the animals admire the most? Why? What was his slogan?
3. Describe a typical Sunday on Animal Farm.
4. Who always disagrees at meetings? What was one thing they all agreed on?
5. Which animals are the best educated? To what degree are the other animals educated?
6. What did Squealer say would happen if the pigs didn't get the extra food? How do the other animals react?
