End of First Quarter & Honor Roll - Grade cards will go home next week. We will recognize honor roll students on Friday, November 2 during opening. Feel free to join us during this time.
Soccer Nationals: Today - Our soccer boys are at National's today in Springfield! They won their first game, and lost the second yesterday. We are cheering them on from afar. Go Mustangs! A reminder that all homework is due on Monday, October 29.
Alumni Soccer & Volleyball Games: Tomorrow - The Athletic Committee will be hosting the alumni soccer game at 4 pm on the soccer field behind the ROC gym and the alumni volleyball game in the ROC gym at 6 pm. Following the soccer game, there will be a potluck meal shared. Athletic Committee is providing hotdogs and drinks for the event. Please bring a dish to share. Help us spread the word by letting any alumni families know about the event!
Fall Sports Awards Banquet: October 29 - 6:30 pm in the ROC gym - Soccer and volleyball athletes and teams will be recognized for their accomplishments this season. Teachers and families are welcome to attend. Each soccer and volleyball family is asked to bring a dessert to share. Beverages will be provided.
Junior High Basketball Meeting: October 30 - Coach Jon Hill will be having the JH boys basketball meeting in the ROC gym at 6:30 pm.
Mustang Gear: Order forms for this years t-shirts and hoodies went home on Monday. Help spread Mustang Spirit and support ACS STUCO by wearing their custom gear. To purchase, turn in order forms, along with payment, to the school office by Wednesday, October 31. Gear will be delivered before Christmas!
Prom Meeting: November 5 - All juniors and their parents are asked to attend the first 2019 prom meeting at 6 pm at El Espolon.
A+ Homework Help: November 7, 14, and 28 - 3:15 to 4:15 pm - Please note there will be no homework help on Wednesday, October 31. A+ students will continue offering homework help for grades K-8th in the CEL cafeteria on Wednesdays throughout November, with the exception of Wednesday, November 21 as that is our Thanksgiving Feast Day. Interested K-8th grade families need to get in touch with Mrs. Mabry to sign up.
Operation Christmas Child: This year our STUCO students are participating in Operation Christmas Child. Their goal is to fill 25 shoe boxes to be sent to children all around the globe. STUCO will be collecting items to fill shoe boxes beginning next week through November 12. As a family, if you would like to fill a shoe box, boxes are available for pick up. STUCO will be hosting a Packing Night on November 12 from 3:30 to 5:30. All families are invited to join this fun event. STUCO sent home information with students regarding the items they are collecting. STUCO has placed wrapped boxes in the CEL Awana Room and the ROC foyer for donations. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any high school student or Mrs. Mabry, STUCO Advisor.
Thanksgiving Feast: November 21 - Applewood has been blessed with a tremendous monetary donation this year! The only item that will need to be purchased is potatoes! What a big God we serve! The sign up form for number of guests and to cook turkeys and potatoes went home Monday. Please return the form to the office by Friday, November 2. Feast day is a fun day for our students and families. Plan now to attend. The elementary and junior high students will be performing at 11:30 that day. The meal will be served at approximately noon.
