School Carnival - Come One, Come All!!!! I am so excited about this year's STUCO school carnival! We have changed some things this year and are hosting it outside on Saturday, October 10th, from 12:00 - 3:00 behind the ROC. Please plan to attend! We are having some new things for kids to do this year (petting zoo) and have some fun prizes to give out. The concession stand will be open and, of course, we plan to put a lot of people in 'jail' again this year. It should be a great time of fun and fellowship for our ACS families. Plan to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the beautiful weather that's in the forecast.
Homework Surveys - Homework surveys are due back into the office by Monday, October 12th.
Parent/Teacher Conference - Monday, October 12th, at 6:00 pm in the ROC - Childcare will be provided in the AWANA room for a donation. The 8th grade class uses this as a fundraiser for their Boston trip.
Parent/Student Surveys - Please be in prayer over these before sitting down with your child to fill them out. Also note that this form is not intended to replace our Matthew 18 principal. If you are having an issue with a teacher, please go to them first to discuss it. These forms, along with other resources, are used by the Academic Committee to help us train and encourage our teachers. These surveys are due back on Monday, October 12th, and can be turned in at Parent/Teacher Conference.
Soccer Senior Recognition - Monday, October 12th - game starts at 5:00 with seniors being recognized about 4:45 - plan to come if you can and help cheer on our ACS soccer boys!
High School Social - Tuesday, October 13th, from 5:00 - 8:30 - Applewood students grades 9-12, as well as any high school age ACS home school athletes, are welcome to attend. I am asking that all students in attendance bring a snack to share. Parents are also welcome to stay and socialize. :)
Tuition - due by the 10th of the month - if you know you are going to be late, please contact the office to make other arrangements
Parent Points - Thank you for signing up to fulfill your families 3 points - the job list is now open for any family wanting to serve above the minimum 3 point requirement
1st Quarter Ends - October 23rd - Grade cards will be released the following week if your surveys have been returned
Costa Rica Mission Trip - The student council has been in communication with Mrs. Dharma Leon about planning a mission trip to Costa Rica next summer. Mrs. Leon has agreed to be a part of this, but could use your help in the planning. She has taken on new duties at the church and simply does not have the time to plan it. Please contact the office if you are interested in helping. It's a great opportunity for our students to be the hands and feet of God and minister to people in another country. We have several students interested in going, so please consider being a part of the team that makes this possible for them. If we are to move forward with this trip, fundraising must start now, so please let us know as soon as possible.
Basketball Interest - Please let the office know if you or someone you know is interested in playing high school girls basketball or junior high boys basketball. We do have a coach and a schedule already in place, now we just need the athletes.
