Hello ACS,
Well, after an interesting week of storms, I hope and pray all are safe and well. In these moments you truly reflect on what is important and what is not. I thank God that He continues to watch out and care for each of us!!

First Day of School: Wednesday, September 7 – We are returning to our original start date of the first Wednesday following Labor Day!

Summer Swim Lessons: If interested, registration for the American Red Cross swim lesson for all ages will be June 7 & 8, from 9 am – 6 pm, at Convention Hall. For further information call the Pettis County Chapter at 827-0618.

Summer Reading: Each family should have received a sheet about the summer reading program at book turn-in. There was a mistake in the website address; the correct one is: http://www.classical-homeschooling.org/celoop/1000.html. To recap the requirements: Grades K to 5 need to read 750 minutes or 12 ½ hours this summer. Grades 6 to 12 need to read 3 books. Using the reading list, please read two books for your grade level; then another of your choosing. Finally, have your mom or dad record the reading to turn in at the beginning of the year; if you read above and beyond, we will have a special treat for you! Lastly, NO written reports!!

Summer Tutoring: Mrs. Gaye Hiller will be offering tutoring this summer for Algebra ½, Algebra I, and Algebra II. It will be on Tuesdays beginning June 7 through August 9. The sessions are as follows: Alg II 9-10 am; Alg I 10-11 am; Alg ½ 11-12 pm. The cost is $5 per student per session. Please contact Mrs. Hiller as soon as possible if interested, 660-619-7581.

Happy Birthday to You: June
