Hello ACS,
Believe it or not, we are in December and coming to the end of our first semester! This is an exciting time as each family prepares to celebrate the birth of Christ. May you remember to share His love to all you meet this week.
Inclement Weather: As winter approaches and weather changes quickly, we wanted to remind you of our cancellation policy. Should school need to be cancelled, each student should look on the website for each teacher’s assignment, which will be posted by 10 am. We will notify parents through a one call, on the website, and the following radio stations: KSIS-AM 1050, KSDL 92.3 FM, KXKX 105.7 FM, and SPIRIT FM 107.7 or 91.7. Should we need to let out early one day, we will issue a one call to all parents.
Policy Change: At the last school board meeting, it was decided that any academic requirements or issues would be handled through the administration with advisement from the academic committee. This will include sports probation based on grades, mission trip academic requirements, etc.
8th Grade Fundraising Opportunities: Raising funds for their trip to Boston! Any questions, call Jennifer Boatright at 287-1423.
Christmas Cards: Handmade Christmas cards featuring several different designs. The designs are posted on the bulletin board in the ROC and the sign-up sheet is on the office door. Cost is $10 for 5 cards and $17.50 for 10.
Babysitting for Christmas: The 8th grade (with adult supervision) is offering parents the opportunity for a night out. Saturday, December 11, from 1 – 8 pm, they will be watching children here at the ROC. Supper will be provided: chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese. The cost is $3 per hour for the 1st child and $2 per hour for each additional child. The deadline for childcare is December 7.
Parent Volunteer Job: We are still in need of a JV/V boys’ and JV/V girls’ basketball team mom. If interested, please call Lorna Sparks.
Happy Birthday to You: Students: Autumn Sparks
Memory Verse: Peace
Phil. 4:6-7: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
