Bulletin

Week of Dec. 7 - 11

Hello ACS Parents,
It is hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner.  Every year Christmas seems to catch me unaware.  It concerns me that life is so hectic that I am unable to stop and concentrate on the meaning of the season.  Each year the shopping gets done, some of the baking gets done, and the Christmas cards never get out the door.  Before I know it, Christmas is over and I am wondering where it went.  As the days tick by in December, I encourage you to stop the merry-go-round of life, get off and take the time to appreciate the most precious gift that has ever been given to the world.  Emmanuel, God with us, came to the earth in the form of a baby to save us all.

One of the things that always helps me to put things into proper perspective at this time of the year is the ACS Christmas program.  Seeing the children worshipping God in song, and in sign language is sure to touch my heart greatly.  Join me this Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the sanctuary as we celebrate our savior’s birth.

“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11

In thankfulness for the season,
Mrs. Young

The Pettis County Health Center contacted ACS to let families know that they are taking appointments to get vaccines for the H1N1 flu.  They stated that the CDC speculates that there could be two additional waves in which the H1N1 flu will heavily affect our population.  The most at risk age groups are school age groups.  This is opposite the regular seasonal flu where seniors are affected the most.
