Week of Nov. 9 - 13

Hello ACS Parents!
The Fund Raising Dinner is over for another year and what a success it was!  Dr. Hinkle’s message was a sobering one delivered with much humor.  He was not only enjoyable but gave me much to think on.  There are many folks that I would like to thank for the success of the event:

• Thank you to Mrs. Deanna Nelson, who was the creative brains behind this event.  From the trees to the beautiful table decorations Deanna, you had the vision!
• Thank you to Mrs. Mabry who helped Mrs. Nelson.  We’ve hit the big time, our school name is on a pen!
• Thank you to Matt Boatright for his incredible job as MC of the evening.  Matt, I am so glad you can think quickly on your feet!  Also thanks to Mr. Boatright for getting the speaker and for getting our donations to cover the cost of the dinner.
• Thank you to the individuals that gave testimonies on ACS.  Their messages gave prospective parents and even some of our parents with young children many reasons for sending their children to ACS.
• Parents, thank you for all of your efforts inviting people to attend the event and for hosting your tables.  The desserts looked marvelous!
• Thank you to my sister Paula Crosier and her kitchen staff (Terry & Jacinda Wassam, Pam & Scott Breid, Vonna Hogan, Kari & Randy Thomas & Thom Crosier) who cooked for two days.  The dinner was incredible!  It is obvious which sister was given the talent for cooking.
• Thank you to Mrs. Leon and the 6th grade for their awesome production of “Avarice”.  I have to tell you Dharma, I’ve been a bit nervous the past couple weeks with the pounding of those sticks.  As usual, you delivered a top quality product.  I would also like to recognize the beautiful voice that we heard in the dark that belonged to sophomore Noel Porter.  Noel, sorry I forgot to put your name in the program.
• Thanks to Jeff and Kasey Blake for doing sound and lights for the drama presentation and the Praise Team.  Microphones are one of those things I always take forgranted.
• Thanks to Mrs. Koeller and the art students for the wonderful job on the trees.  We hope to keep them up for the Thanksgiving Feast so that everyone has a chance to see them.
• Thanks to Mrs. Allcorn who contacted the alumni for their information and pictures.
• Thanks to my students, grades 7 -12, for serving.  I know I expect a lot of you but you never disappoint me.
• Thanks to Mrs. Church & the Praise Team for the good job they did and for being willing to play as much or as little as I wanted them to.
• Thanks to Dr. Boatright for sharing a table with me and taking the pressure of coming up with a dessert off my shoulders.  Thanks Jen!
• Thanks to my admin staff, Gay & Lorna, who did a lot of the behind the scenes work, including the pestering of parents and the tracking down of alumni.  Their job is often very undesirable yet they press on because I need them to do it.  Thanks ladies for never saying “no”.

Needless to say there are many folks I am very grateful for this weekend.  There are so many other people that have uplifted me this week in countless small ways, you are no less important to me.

Next week’s bulletin will have an update on the results of the envelopes.

Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Young

”But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  Matthew 6:33
