Week of Dec. 1 - 5

Hello ACS Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  The Feast went very well this year with the help of many dedicated servants.

In early November the student leaders in our school attended a conference on Biblical leadership.  They learned that being a leader means being willing to be a servant.  “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”  Mark 9:35   At ACS servanthood is modeled for the students every day because it is an important character trait that we hope that they develop.  We expect them to chip in when there is work to do without being asked.  If everyone took the attitude of servanthood to heart, the work would be quickly accomplished and the burden lighter for everyone.  Help us to train your child to be more like Christ, be a model of servanthood.

Below, please see the list of parent jobs.  Be sure you are doing what you have signed up for.  Also remember that your family jobs must total 3 points for the year. If you have questions about what your job entails, contact the office.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”  Romans 12:1

Yours In Christ,

Mrs. Young

Thanksgiving Feast.  Thank you to all those that made the Thanksgiving Feast extra special this year.  Thanks to Paula Crosier for her expertise in knowing how much food to prepare and for coordinating the cooking with the students.  To Gaye Hiller, Mrs. Crosier’s assistant, for purchasing food and working with the students all morning.  For Sandy Wedemeyer who worked diligently from beginning to end.  To the homeroom moms for helping the students.  To Mr. Boatright for washing a mountain of dishes.  To all the families that agreed to make turkeys or mashed potatoes.  And to Mrs. Leon and her committee for the program.  You are all true servants!  We were able to bless the folks at CASA with the extra food left over!
