Hello ACS Parents,
Your students should have brought home a field trip permission form from school on Friday. ACS is going on the road! All grades will be attending field trips this Friday, April 4th. I am sorry that we did not give you much advanced warning but we decided to take advantage of an opportunity so here we are moving school to Kansas City! The following is a listing of each grade and the details of their respective field trips:
High School (grades 9 - 12) will be going to Union Station in Kansas City to see the “Bodies Revealed” exhibit. We will also see “The Human Body” at the Extreme Screen Theater. Cost of this field trip is $15.00. We will be leaving the WalMart parking area at 9:00 am and returning at 4:45 pm. Students need to pack a lunch and a drink.
Grades 7 - 8 will be going to the Steamboat Arabia museum and will be learning how to preserve artifacts. Departure and arrival information is not set yet. Please check the bulletin for times on Tuesday. Cost of the trip is $10.00. Students need to bring a lunch and a drink.
Grades 4 - 5 will be going to Tricity Ministries in Independence to attend the Elementary MAACS Fine Arts Competition. Dress code: Girls: church dress or skirt (below the knee) with panty hose or knee sox. Boys: slacks, dress shirt, and tie. Students will need to bring lunch and a drink, as well as money for dinner. Students will be leaving the Walmart parking lot at 6:00 am and returning at 7:00 pm.
Grades K - 3 will be going to Kaleidescope at Crowne Plaza. They will be making a special quilt to hang at school. They will be leaving the WalMart parking lot at 7:30 am and will be returning at 3:30 pm. Students need to pack a lunch and a drink.
The field trips are considered a school function and are considered mandatory. If students are unable to attend for any reason, please contact me as soon as possible. Since we will not be in the classrooms on Friday, students will do their clean up chores on Wednesday and therefore will not be out until 3:45. We are looking forward to a great day filled with fun, fellowship, and learning.
