Bulletin

Week of March 26-28

Hello ACS Family,
I hope you have all had a relaxing break and a peaceful Easter holiday.  As those of you who have been with ACS know, the last quarter of the school year tends to fly by quickly.  The nice weather also tends to have an adverse affect on students and their studies.  Who can blame them for wanting to be outdoors instead of doing their homework?  Please help your student stay focused going into the home stretch of this school year.

Yours In Christ,
Mrs. Young

Easter Egg Hunt—Friday, March 28 during lunch.  Students are each asked to bring in a dozen filled plastic eggs for the hunt.  All students participate (yes, even seniors)! Younger siblings are invited to attend and need to bring a dozen eggs.  Home room moms, please be at school by 10:00 to help me hide the eggs.

Teacher Surveys— Parents please return these by Wednesday.  The Academic Committee appreciates you taking the time to help us make this school better.

College/Dual Credit Students— we need you to send an official transcript to ACS from SFCC in order for you to get credit for your classes.

High School Planning Night—Thursday, April 10 at 7 pm in the AWANA room.  This is a mandatory meeting for students grades 8-11 and their parents.  We will be planning your classes for next year.  Class of 2009, you will be voting on your graduation date.

Basketball Pictures—Last call for families to order basketball pictures.  Please email Scott Young spbrh1983@charter.net or drop your order form in his mail box in the office.

Basketball Awards Slide Show— If you would like a copy of this year’s slide show on CD, please let Mr. Young know.  Cost is $5.

Field Trip Day— Friday, April 5 .  Seven of our grades will be going on field trips so we are looking into the possibility allowing all grades to take in a field trip that day.  The following field trips have been scheduled:

High School (9-12) will be going to Union Station in Kansas City to see “Bodies Revealed”.  We will also see “The Human Body” at the Extreme Screen Theater.  Cost of this field trip is $15.50.  More details to follow.

Grades 4-5 will be going to Tricity Ministries in Independence to attend the elementary MAACS competition.  Students will need to bring money for lunch.  Dress code:  Girls:  church dress or skirt (below the knee), panty hose or knee sox, and close toed shoes.  Boys:  slacks, dress shirt, and tie.

Grades 7-8 and Grades K-3.  Parents, if you have any ideas for field trips for these two groups, please let Debbie Cormican, our field trip coordinator know.

12-hour MEGA Crop April 5— Fund raiser for the Boston Trip.  Scrapbooking  and vendor booths.  If you love to "scrap", or have a business and would like to host a booth, or both, we have a great day in store for you.  Please contact Mrs. Lansing at 553-0313.
