Hi ACS Families! Our basketball teams just returned from the Gateway Regional Homeschool Championships, a 3 day tournament held in Lebanon, MO that encompassed 77 teams from Tennessee to Oklahoma. Our varsity boys team played in the U18 (5A) division along with 6 other schools. Our varsity girls team played in the U16 division along with 11 other schools. Both teams did exceptionally well for a school of our size! The boys took third place and the girls came in second place! We were very excited for the varsity girls as this was their first tournament. Congratulations to all the players and their coaches! J Mrs. Young
Yearbook – If you have not ordered your copy, please get your money in tomorrow! The books are $18.00 each. Sports Awards Night – This Friday, March 7 at 7:00pm. Basketball players from all teams and their families are invited to attend. Please bring a dessert to share. Long John Silvers fund raiser – Parents are encouraged to eat at LJS on March 25 from 11 am to 8 pm. Twenty percent of the profits from your meal will go to the students attending the ACS Boston field trip. We will be sending out a fund raiser flier home with the students tomorrow. You must bring this flier with you for the school to get credit. Thanks for your help! Dinner Theatre - Saturday, April 26, grades 9 and 10 will be performing “Uncle Phil’s Diner.” Grades 6, 7 and 8 will be waiting tables and the juniors and seniors will be cooking the meal. This will be an Applewood event to share with our community, and we request your help by spreading the word and helping sell tickets. Tickets will be going out next week along with promotional flyers and bulletin inserts for all the churches we represent. Uncle Phil’s Diner takes place in 1956, so we encourage everyone to come dressed in their poodle skirts, pedal pushers, bobby socks, leather jackets and blue jeans, bowling or Hawaiian shirts, cardigan sweaters or letterman jackets, polka dotted skirts and colorful scarves. This will be a fun family night of great diner food and 50’s style entertainment by the Desoto’s live band performers. Please check the list in last week’s bulletin for props you may be able to loan us. If you could donate or know how to sew and can help, please let Mrs. Dharma León know at 829-2869.
