Bulletin

Week Of Jan. 14 - 18

Dear ACS Parents,

The Annual ACS Carnival is Saturday, January 26 in the ROC.  It is a fund raising event put on by Stucco (Student Council).  There are games like the cake walk, football throw, and duck pond.  Fun and prizes for everyone!  Your student may even go home with a live gold fish!  There is also face painting and a moon bounce.  The concession stand is ready to feed you dinner or a quick snack.   The Pie-In-The-Face competition begins this Monday.  Students are encouraged to bring their spare change in to put money on a friend or favorite teacher to get a pie in the face.  (I will be contacting parents before any large sum of money is donated, especially if they have your wallet in hand J).  I have heard rumors that this year’s entertainment is the game “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?”.  So come on out for a night of fun and fellowship.  Be sure to bring your friends!

Welcome to 2 new students!  Robbie Nelson and Kelby Shive (both in grade 8) joined us last Friday. We are glad you are here!

ACS Scholarship – The school board will be offering a scholarship for the coming second semester.  Parents interested in applying for the scholarship please pick up an application in the office.

Sewing Machines Needed – The Life Skills class (juniors & seniors) need to borrow a few sewing machines for approximately two weeks.  If you have a sewing machine you are willing to lend the school please contact Paula Crosier at 826-3747.

Paper Towels – We are running out of paper towels!  Please send in one roll with each student this week.  Thanks!

Change in Report Cards – Second quarter (first semester) ended Jan. 9.  Report cards will go out Wed, Jan. 16.  The Academic Committee felt that it was taking too long to get the report cards out to students by entering the grades onto the computer and printing them out. So we have decided to go back and do things the old fashioned way.  Students will receive a hard copy report card written on by each of their teachers.  Report cards will need to be returned to the office no later than Wed, Jan 23.  Students who lose their report card will be charged a $10 replacement fee.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Young
