Dear ACS Families,
It has been amazing the “firsts” Applewood has had this year. This weekend our soccer team participated in the Mid America Association of Christian Schools regional tournament. They were entered in the A division which is for small schools. The last time we participated in this tournament was in 2004 and I believe we got fourth place. This weekend our team won the tournament! The following awards were also received:
All Tournament Award : Jeff Walker & Kolby Gabbert
Sportmanship Award: Logan Austin
MVP (from among all players that participated): David DeMasters
Congratulations boys! Congratulations Mustangs, Coach Young, Coach Lansing, and Coach Wedemeyer for a spectacular end to a great season! God has truly been faithful to this little school called Applewood!
We are less than two weeks and counting away from our big fund raising dinner. I hope that if you have not started praying for this event that you begin to do so today. I will be calling this week with the final names for your list. Please be sure you have spelled them correctly. I am very excited to see what God is going to do through this event!
High schoolers you will be taking a class on serving next week so that you will be prepared for what is expected of you that night. Your uniform for the evening is black or blue slacks and a white shirt. Wear comfortable shoes, you will spend the night on your feet.
Grades 6 – 8, you should have your attire by now. You will need to wear an all black long-sleeved shirt (nothing with a hood), all black pants (no stripes on side), and non skid black socks. After your performance you will be dismissed to the AWANA room, where dinner will be waiting for you.

Annual Thanksgiving Feast – It is almost time for the Feast! This is a time where the entire student body gets a chance to cook for their family and friends. All are welcome! The event will start at 11:30 with some performances and dinner will be served at noon. Students do their clean up chores immediately following the dinner and then are dismissed for Thanksgiving break. We will be sending home a sheet asking how many guests we can expect from your family.
