Bulletin

Week of April 2 - 4

Hi Parents!

This should be an easy week with no homework as we will be testing Monday – Wednesday.  Please be sure to have your student to school by 8:15 as the tests will start promptly at 8:30.  Please review the information in the bulletin entitled “testing”.

I was blessed to attend the Annual Literacy Tea & Auction today where our own Mrs. Noland was speaking.  What a wonderful job she did speaking on writing pottery and then read some of her poems to us.  ACS students are blessed to have such talented teachers!

I’d like to ask for your prayers as a trio from ACS spends their Easter break on the road ministering to people in Arkansas and Mississippi.  One of out teachers, Mr. Sam Nelson, David DeMasters (gr 11) and Isaiah Otten (gr 8) will be hitting the road right after testing this Wednesday and heading down to MS where they will be building homes for people who are still trying to put their lives together from the flood.  Along the way, they plan on sharing Christ with others through their music.

Student Council Officers elected for 2007-08:

          Uriah Otten – President

          Brooke Ogle – Vice President

          Hannah Young – Treasurer

          Melissa Backe – Secretary

Nathan Church & Logan Austin – Sentinels

Weight training class – Mrs. Thomas is teaching a weight training class for the sophomores and juniors and is in need of some resistance bands.  If anyone has one we could borrow please label them and bring them into the office.

Wheel Thing is having roller-skating to Christian music the fourth Monday of every month from 6 – 9 pm.

Don’t forget ACS moms are praying together every third Monday at Sheri Austin’s house at 10:00am.

Junior & Seniors!  Tickets for the 2007 Prom are on sale Monday & Wednesday only.  Please be sure to pick up your tickets for you and your parents.

The 2007 Prom decorating committee is in need of white lights (with white electric cords).  If anyone has a string they would be willing to lone us until after the prom April 14.  Please label them and drop them by the ROC office.

Volunteers are needed to help bring food and serve it at the Community Café.  ACS has volunteered to assist this worthwhile endeavor once a month.  Our date for this month is April 24 from 4 – 6.  Parents and students wishing to attend need to call Debbie Cormican at 826-0184.

Students who earned the top prize during our fund raiser last fall are going to Incred-A-Bowl this Tuesday immediately following testing.  Your students should have received a purple sheet giving all the details.  If you have any questions call Robyn Wadley 827-4643.

Kindergarten Graduation has been moved to May 5.

Enjoy your Easter break and be sure to come back on Wednesday, April 11!
