Dear Parents,
Applewood is participating in a two week fundraiser selling gift wrap, cards, and small gifts. It is through a corporation called Abundant Funds Ministries out of Florida. We had our kickoff this morning (Oct. 16th) and your child may come home full of excitement at the possibilites for prizes.
We are asking that each child sell at least 10 items over the next two weeks. We are trying to reach outside the ACS families, to our communities, for this support. We ask that you help and encourage your child in his/her effort. Please accompany you child if he/she goes door to door. The children have opportunities to earn stuffed animals, candy, gift certfiicates and a trip to Incred-A-Bowl in Kansas City. Below is a break down of incentives:
Week 1: Oct 16-23 Early Bird special
If your child sells 10 items in the first week of the fundraiser he/she is eligible for the following prizes: K - 5: a stuffed animal, 6 - 8: Pizza lunch, 9 - 12: Off all expense lunch off campus.
Week 2: Oct 24-30 Personal Achievement
If your child sells their initial 10 items in the second week they are eligible for bundled candy prizes. The class selling the most on Mon, Wed, and Fri will have its teacher wearing a crazy costume.
If your child sells an additional 5-10 items in the second week they are eligible for the following:
K-8: Stop, drop, and roll: Each child is outfitted in double-sided sticky tape. We will scatter certificates for food, gifts, and priveleges on the floor. The child will be given 10 seconds to roll around on the floor and try to pick up as many of these certificates as possible.
9-12: Mystery Box: This box will be filled with similar certificates, including a large amount gift card as well.
Additionally, the students with the highest sales will win a trip to Incred-A-Bowl for laser tag, putt putt and bowling, all expenses paid.
This fundraiser is for our school so that we do not have to raise tuition and allow us to meet payroll budget for this school year to pay our teachers. In other words, it is to cover basic operating expenses, nothing fancy.
If you choose not to participate, please let Mrs. Young or Mr. White know. There will be alternatives such as working at one of the sports events or just a cash donation. We all need to do our part. We tried to make this as fun as possible for the kids - we know it is difficult to sell stuff. We hope we can work together for our teachers, our school, and ultimately your child - all for the glory of our Lord who so graciously helps us funds ways to help ourselves.
In Him,
The Family Club
